Welcome to blogHer!

Welcome to blogHer, compileHer’s new blog and online resource hub. compileHer is a student led organization at the University of Chicago (UChicago) which aims to engage young girls from diverse backgrounds through computer science education. The resources and blog are our way of connecting with girls interested in STEM virtually.

In the future, you can expect this site to showcase interviews of role models in STEM, entries by current UChicago CS students, tutorials about coding for all levels, spotlights of past events, and more! At the moment, we have the first episode of our podcast linked on our “Resources” page!

Some other ways we are transitioning to a virtual environment include collaborating with Code Your Chances to teach coding workshops, hosting a virtual Google Hour of Code with professional software developers, and reformatting our annual Hackathon to be entirely online. For more information about these events, like us on Facebook. And if you can’t make it to these, don’t worry: keep an eye out for blog posts debriefing them right here on blogHer!
